A Bit About Me
After over 10 years in child care I have a strong connection to the idea of motherhood. Once I reached college I had trouble finding my path, it took me two years at a 4 year university to realize I was on the wrong path. I was meant to be a midwife, a doula and everything in between. In order to become a midwife in North Carolina you have to become a nurse first and then get a masters degree in midwifery, so I am doing just that. I am currently in Nursing school on my way to midwifery while working as a CNA and a Doula! With my long path to midwifery, I felt then that it was my calling to become a doula and start guiding and educating mothers in their birth journeys. The word “doula” is an ancient Greek word meaning ‘woman caregiver’, and in my practice I offer support to women and their partners before, during and after childbirth. My role is to help facilitate safe, positive and empowering birthing experiences by offering the information, emotional support and physical support needed during this time.
